Terms of service

Cravelin is a place to discover new products, vote for the ones you have used, and launch your own. You can browse without an account. Launching, voting, commenting and booking a placement need one, created by signing in with Google or GitHub.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in provider's credentials safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used it.

Only submit material you own or have permission to share. Keep product descriptions, screenshots, pricing and maker information accurate, and keep them accurate as the product changes. Do not include confidential information or content that infringes someone else's rights.

You keep ownership of what you publish. By publishing a launch you give Cravelin permission to display it, resize and cache its images, and include it in listings, rankings and the newsletter. Drafts are private to your account until you publish them.

To stay listed, a launch must keep the Cravelin embed badge in the HTML of its own website (the homepage, or /about). We check for a link back to the product page or the hosted badge image. A page that does not load, or that blocks our checker, is not treated as a removed badge. If a clean check cannot find it, the listing enters a seven-day grace period and we email the owner with the URL we fetched. After that the verification mark is removed and the launch is ranked below verified listings. Thirty days later it is delisted: hidden from the board, rankings and directory. Putting the badge back restores the listing on the next check, including from delisted.

We may also remove or delist a launch that breaks these terms, is inactive or misleading, or that we are legally required to take down.

Keep conversations relevant and respectful. Do not impersonate others, post spam, manipulate votes with multiple accounts or automation, or use the platform to harass people. Product claims should describe what a product actually does.

Rankings are decided by votes and nothing else. No purchase, placement or partnership changes where a product ranks.

Products linked from Cravelin are operated by their respective makers. Their availability, pricing, terms and privacy practices are theirs, and may change. Review those details directly before signing up or purchasing.

Cravelin sells three placements online: a promoted card in the rail beside the board, a featured launch week for a launch you own, and the sole sponsor slot in a Friday newsletter issue. Web placements run from Monday 00:00 UTC of their booked week to its end; newsletter inventory maps to that week's Friday issue. At most two rail cards and one newsletter sponsor run at once. Every placement is labelled and excluded from the ranking.

Prices are shown in US dollars before tax. Tax, if any, is calculated and shown at checkout based on your location. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record for the transaction and issues your receipt and invoice. Cravelin never sees or stores your card details.

A placement is booked when the payment is confirmed to us by the payment provider — not when a confirmation page is opened. Until then the weeks you chose are held for a short time and then released. Your orders page shows the current status of every booking.

What you get is the placement described on the advertise page for the weeks you booked. We do not guarantee a number of impressions, clicks, votes or sales. Creative that breaks these terms or the community rules will be removed and the booking treated as cancelled by you.

A booking can be cancelled for a full refund from your orders page until seven days before its first week starts. After that it is committed and non-refundable, including once it is running or has finished. The full rules, including what happens if we ever cannot deliver a week you paid for, are in the refunds and cancellations policy.

Cravelin is a small, actively developed product. Features, layouts and pricing for future bookings may change. We aim to keep the site available at all times but cannot promise it, and we are not liable for losses caused by downtime beyond refunding a placement that could not run because of it.
