How does a product end up in a category?
Makers choose the tags when they submit a launch. The moment it goes live it appears on each matching category page and counts toward the totals here — there is nothing else to fill in.
How are categories ordered?
By how many live launches each one holds, largest first, with ties broken alphabetically. Inside a category the launches are ordered by votes, so the page leads with what people actually backed.
Can one product sit in more than one category?
Yes, and most do — a launch usually carries two or three tags and shows up under each. That is why the counts on this page add up to more than the 0 launches themselves.
Do these pages update as new products launch?
Yes. Counts and rankings are read off the catalog on every request, so a launch that went live an hour ago is already counted here and already on its category page.
